EVENT PRODUCTION

Conferences, Symposiums, Workshops

Immersive parties by night; conferences by day.

Over the past four years I worked for pioneering media scholar Henry Jenkins, Provost's Professor at USC (where he came after founding MIT’s Comparative Media department).

In 2016 and 2017 I produced the Transforming Hollywood Conference, a partnership between USC and UCLA that brings industry and academia together to explore the future of media. Panelists included Melissa Rosenberg (Showrunner, Marvel's Jessica Jones; Executive producer and head writer, Dexter) Troy Carter (CEO Q&A, formerly Spotify’s global head of creator services & Lady Gaga’s manager) Laura Sydell (NPR's digital culture correspondant), Zander Lehmann (creator and executive producer of Casual) and more.

In addition I produced…..

  • Imagine 2040 Symposium (MacArthur funded) - a one-day symposium with a widely diverse set of activists, practitioners, and scholars to think together about the civic imagination - how pop culture and creative thinking can be harnessed to create political action.

  • The Power and Pleasure of Podcasting - a two-day event that combined evening performances by a diverse group of influential podcasters with hands-on daytime workshops offering practical tips and tools on the production and business of podcasting.

  • UnREAL: Making & Unmaking Gender, Race, and Power for TV - an evening of conversation with Peabody Award-winning Lifetime series UnREAL’s co-creator/executive producer Sarah Gertrude Shapiro, executive producer/showrunner Stacy Rukeyser, and cast members from both seasons.
